Help Replacing 1076 Hammer Spring

I want to replace the existing hammer spring with a 22 lb spring but am not sure what is involved. I am fairly handy around the reloading bench but am not a gunsmith. The last thing I want to do is cary a shoebox full of parts to a gunsmith and ask him to put my pistol back together. Any advice concerning the procedure will be greatly appreciated.

If you can replace the grip, you can replace the hammer spring.
The grip holds the hammer spring in place.

A note of caution... be extra careful of your sideplate when removing & re-installing the grip. Even though your sideplate is different than that shown in the vid, If you're not paying close attention you can easily damage it by catching the grip on it and bending/deforming the end that anchors the sear pin. Watch the frame teardown vid to see what I'm referring to. Especially when putting the grip back on take care to not let top left corner of the grip catch under the sideplate.

Not a bad idea either to have a couple of these on hand, especially when they are getting more difficult to obtain: 1076 decock lever spring

The attached pic shows all of the "stuff" on the left side of the frame that you have to take care with while removing and re-installing the grip.
