Hello dear friends,

Once again, I turn to you for help in identifying specific details about this particular revolver. I need to complete the paperwork for it, and the regulatory agency in my country (Argentina) is very strict regarding firearm information—to the point that they can seize a gun if they find any discrepancies. Unfortunately, although there have been some positive changes recently, the public administration still follows a disarmament ideology, which is something I have to deal with.

This forum has been incredibly helpful in the past when I needed to identify the model of the firearm, but now I need answers to more specific details. These are:

  • Is the nickel finish original?
  • The approximate year of production.
  • The exact model.

Based on my research, I believe this is a Military & Police Hand Ejector Model of 1902, 2nd Change, with a 6.5-inch barrel (this measurement was taken carefully). However, I have some doubts regarding the nickel finish, as the caliber inscription, which should be located on the left side of the barrel, has disappeared.

I truly appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you very much in advance!

Using the Neal & Jinks system of classification, you have a 38 Military & Police, Model 1905- 3rd Change.
The current nickel finish is NOT the original finish. If there is a B beside the serial number on bottom of barrel, it most likely shipped in blue. If there is no B, it most likely shipped in nickel.
It was likely built in 1909-10.
