Hello. I have a model 19-5 Nickel plated Combat Revolver with a 6" barrel that I assumed was parked in the original box. Actually, I never even looked at the details on the label until I listed it for trade on this site and a knowledgeable member pointed out that it was not the original box. I retracted the ad because it was advertised as coming with the original box.

So, can you please help me identify the model revolver to which the box actually belongs? (I include a picture of the buttplate of my 19-5 for reference). Thanks in advance.

Cool box! A 19-5 was almost surely shipped in the one-piece flip-top box, all blue and says DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER REVOLVER REVOLVER on it. It would have the cardboard “coffin” inside with the “top hat” that sits through the trigger guard.

I can’t be absolutely certain of that, but I have a hunch that it did.

So, I guess I'll re-list the revolver without the box. I guess I'll just store screws and nuts in that. Thanks for the info.

That code shows the box is for a 19-4, bright blue, 6" barrel, square butt and standard features (Patridge front sight, plain rear sight leaf, standard .265" serrated service trigger and .375" semi-target hammer).

I see the 19-4, bright blue, 6”, sq. butt, but did you get the rest from the code or just know that was standard? Any instructions would be appreciated.

There's a write up in the 2011 Journal, 45-3 but the last digit is features.

One being standard, 4 is TT/TH, 7 is RR/WO, 8 is TT/TH/RR/WO (which were standard on the Models 29 & 57 so they'd have a 1) and 0 is special.
