Help with 32-20 Hand Ejector

Hello,

Was wondering if you guys could help me with information about a 32-20 Hand Ejector I recently picked up at an estate sale. I have attached pictures, and here are the answers to the standard questions:

• No Model# on Yoke
• Hand Ejector style
• Serial #14017 (Butt, Cylinder and grips match)
• 32 Winchester CTG
• 4" Barrel
• Fixed Sights
• Has strain screw
• 4 screws (no screw at front of trigger guard

It came with what looks like it might be an original holster for it. I will probably look to sell this gun and would like to know all the details in order to tell a prospective buyer all the correct info.

This is a Model of 1902, First Change. Dates to the 1903-1905 era. It looks like it has been re-blued. I have seen some police holsters like that. The holster tucks into the back pocket (IIRC).

Wow...thanks for the info. I wouldn't have expected it to be that old. Anyone have a feel for a value on this one?

The chambers in picture # 5 look pretty good. Take another picture showing all of the chambers and one down the bore and post them here.

I have a 4" 1902 no change from 1902 Nickel Pated that looks pretty bad. Mine has great bore and cylinders. But somebody used Hoppe's #9 on the nickel and that gets the exterior messed up.

They shoot great with "Cowboy" ammo. Avoid "High Speed" Rifle ammo! Your gun was made to shoot lead bullets most accurately.

A word to the wise. The springs in this gun all leaf springs and are rare! If it is functioning, Don't take it apart for detail cleaning. To clean the internals, remove grips, use an aerosol gun scrub (never WD-40) and repeat. Lightly lubricate the same way.

A 120 year old revolver is a joy to own, but maintenance is done differently than a 90 year old S&W.
