Help with 9mm 95 grain using 231

Yes sir 95 grain round nose

What data says to load them that long? The reason I ask is I load these a tenth shorter at 1.020". At 1.115" the case mouth is in the lube groove, and not where you want a crimp. I'm surprised you had any accuracy at all.

My Lyman Cast Handbook is calling 1.169

That handbook is obviously not a good reference in this case.

Take a look at the picture. This is a Bayou 95gn RN that's just barely started in a 9mm case, you'll see it measures 1.158". These bullets need to be pressed well past the lube groove by design. Lyman 50th shows 1.045" for 90gn cast, as Forrest r has already pointed out. The yellow arrow in the picture shows approximately where the case mouth would be at 1.045".

My bayou bullets are smooth I should have stated that better before hopefully it clears it up to everyone. Since I got my Dillion 550 I enjoy reloading so much more even more that shooting if that makes sense to any other reloaders here.....
