I got a very nice used Franchi 20 gauge auto yesterday. It is unbelievably light weight. How do you say Franchi? Is it frankee, fraun-chee or what?

Judging from the Benelli USA DVD catalog, it's "Frahnkee" (or "Fron-key").

Ih-talian.:)

Here's some commonly mispronounced names:
Heckler & Koch: the "Koch" is pronounced "coke"
Uberti, Umarex: Not You-berti, Oo-berti. Umarex is the same.

Walther: somebody help me out here. I've heard it as Walter, Walther, and Valter. Which is it? I know the second is incorrect.

I've had it for years - I was just waiting for this post :)

In Japanese, Hoppes would be pronounced "Hohp-pay-su," if just looking at the spelling anyway. (That is if anyone ever thought to pronounce it in Japanese, which I seriously doubt..)

But how about in English? Hops or Hop-peas?

Been wondering about that for years... :)
