I no longer trust the much publicized tables. They'll tell you 1948. It could just as easily be 1949. If its important to you there are a couple of ways to get an exact answer. You could join the SWCA, which gives you access to the members section, then ask Roy up there. Or you could send away for a factory letter (instructions up there, but open to all.
For a long while I was soured toward letters on post war guns. I still don't advocate that for most guns. The exceptions being rare configurations or engraved examples. For the $50 cost, you will get a document that often give useful information. Like learning it was sent to a gun shop in your home town (often a hardware store.)
Much depends on your reason for wanting to know. Most of us like the idea of a gun that shipped on our year of birth. Some guys even stretch it to getting one shipped the day they were born. If its a family gun, and family lore has it your relative bought it sometime in the past, you can confirm that part (or disprove it).
