Help with disc i.d. / Case repair

Hi guys,

This disc has been fitted into the left hand grip panel of a Mod 29. Can anyone help with its i.d. or is it just a medallion that someone has fitted in an attempt to personalize his gun.

Your "disc" is the button off a US Army Jacket ... I'd get a new set of handles for that nice pistol.
