Help with info

Hey guys, new to the forum and I can not for the love of me find out any more info on this gun. I know it’s a .38 special s&w model 36 with the engraving “We Dig Coal” if anyone knows any information about this gun and/or the movement behind it and if it’s valuable at all let me know I really appreciate it thanks!

Agree, I looked thru the SCoSW #4, and didn't find anything mentioning that gun specifically. I'd guess that someone bought some 36's and had them engraved with the cases added.

I found a few different S&W models, a knife set and some 1 oz silver coins with that motto using a google search. One of them said they were produced for the Kentucky Coal Miners Association and another attributed them to the Coal Miners of America.

Here's a model 60 with the same logo and case.

I know this an old thread, but I have a model 66 (1 of 66) and 629 (1 of 179) of the “we dig coal” series. These were done for the Kentucky Coal Operators.
