Picked up the hottest girl on the block around here, a Sport and and a couple spare P-mags. First AR btw. For my first mod I'm kinda daydreaming on what I'd like and let me state I haven't shopped for anything so far, just boucing some ideas around.

I have the Magpul buis and I want to leave it in place and mount a regular scope I have with six inches long eye relief. I'm figuring on see thru high rings and would love to be able to flip up the buis if something went wrong with the scope hence the see thru rings. BTW I've noticed the buis is mounted pretty low to start with when trying to get a cheek weld.

So is it possible?

If something goes wrong with the scope, just remove it from the rail and switch to your BUIS.

When you mount a scope (or any other sighting system), you want the objective to be as close to the center of the rifle's bore as possible. See-through rings will make it nearly impossible to achieve a consistent cheek weld that lets you use the scope.

^^ Yup.

Don't mount your scope in some awkward position just so that you can have a backup sighting system. Mount the scope correctly on a QD mount, and if it becomes damaged flip two small levers and remove it from the gun. Flip up the rear right and you are shooting again.

THIS is the best option. "co witnessing" is for red dot devices, not conventional type rifle scopes.:)

Boy, if that doesn't cover it....nothing ever will.

Is there a multiple "Like" function????:D
