HELP WITH SERIAL NUMBER

I own a 2" round butt Model 10-9 I bought around 1989, 98, it has the following stamped on it:

MOD 10-9

Serial#: BMU I think the next charcter is either a zero or a "D" follwed by three numbers

According to my Standard Catalog of S&W 3rd editionm the 10-9 was manufactured in 1988. In that year the new yoke retention system/radius stude package/floating hand hammer nose bushing on tapered barrel model.

That is all the info I have found so far, appreciate any help forum members can provide.

A BMU serial number is likely 1993.

where did you find the info concerning the date the BMU was made? I notice I messed up the year(s) I bought the revolver.

I was stationed in Long Beach from early 1989 to 1994 soit is possible I am off as top the year I bought it!
