I picked up this at a gun show today. It appears to be an I frame about 3 inch barrel. Serial number 222*** which is on the cylinder and the butt.
In the S&W book it says some of these have the 32 L ctg marking on the right but this one is on the left. There are 4 screws.
The S&W logo is on the right. It has a notch rear sight and blade front sight. Checkered hammer.
Round butt with really neat Pearl grips which I was told are real.
There are so many variations in the book that I can't tell which one it is or when it was made.
There are a lot of dates on the barrel but the last one is Sept 14, 09.

Any help would be appreciated.
BTW this will be a keeper for life for me.
I can put up pics later if that would help.

That would be a Model of 1903, fifth change. It probably shipped in 1915 or 1916. Do the MOP stocks have medallions, or are they plain? They could be real, but not necessarily original to the gun.

These old .32s are fine little revolvers. You can shoot modern .32 Long ammo in it as long as you are certain the action is sound and the gun properly aligned.

Looking forward to the photos. I have a couple of old .32s and love them.
