I was encouraged back at the beginning of 2017 when Henry announced that they would be producing their lever action in .327 Magnum. Remembering that April 2017 was the target date I'm wondering if the idea has been scrapped or just hit a snag, anyone have any information? Sure hope this isn't something that has been asked already, I'm sure sorry for the clutter if it has!

I have one. Very very nice.

I believe they slipped the original shipment schedule a few months, but have been shipping for a while.

There are some for sale on gunbroker

If I were twenty years younger and had some money I'd like to have one. Looks like an intriguing combination of rifle and caliber. But I'd need one in .357 first.

I have a 357 Magnum Henry rifle.

I've heard the argument that with a loading gate you can feed in rounds as you use them so in a gun fight you can keep the gun going. Whereas loading a tube magazine puts the gun out of service for a minute to two.

Well this is true. But then my gun holds 10 rounds.

And, I don't expect ever to get into any kind of gun fight, let alone one that takes more than 10 rounds of 357 Magnum to resolve.

The limitation of the tube loading is just not an issue for me.

For target shooting, plinking, hunting or any other use I can think of, the slower loading matters not.

I have one in 41 mag. I like the tube feed. I was raised on a Savage 99, and I always hated after a day of hunting with no luck, having to unload by working the lever. What a PITA. Now with the tube, just slide them all out.

Thanks for all the replies

Reassuring that they are producing them, now to ask why my Dealer has been unable to find one available that can be purchased for me. I'll ask again and thanks!

Does the .327 hHnry handle the shorter .32s OK?

I remember Henry saying that the rifle was designed to feed 32 H&R Magnum, but not 32 S&W Long.

But I've also seen posts from rifle owners saying their gun handles all three rounds.

I suppose with 32 S&W Long it probably depends on the bullet type. Many people use wad cutters in 32 long, and those probably won't feed.

Perhaps someone who owns the rifle will come along and give their first hand experiences.

I'm glad some folks like them. I've never warmed to them.
The lack of loading gate looks odd, and they have to be some of the heaviest-for-caliber leverguns ever made.
I held up a .30-30 that came into the LGS where I was working. It felt like a green fence post.
And....they're made in NJ.
(Sorry :) )
