Went to the Henry Rifle Website to check out their
Rifles, and on the front page Henry is Advertising
the Side Loading Gate Carbine.

It comes in 30-30Win, 38-55Win, and 35Rem.
Brass Receiver, Drilled/Tapped Rec., 20"Bbl, Straight
Grip, Wood Stocks, Sling Swivels.

Looks similar to the Marlin Model 336.

Should be popular.

I'm going to wait for it in 45 Colt, maybe a big loop short barrel carbine. My 4-5 year old BBS .41 mag has been a dandy, but I do prefer the ability to load with one hand on the fly. They are well built rifles, this upgrade should make lots of folks happy.

I’ll wait for them in .357, if it even happens. With mixed reports on the new Marlin 1894C .357 rifles I’ve been disillusioned to ever buying a new American made lever gun. Henry gets excellent reviews but the underbarrel tube loading was a big turnoff. Seems it still exists even on the side loaders as an option but I’d be even happier if it was totally gotten rid of in a favor of standard mag tube.

F.Y.I. the new Marlins are great guns again, They invested in new tooling and are producing beautiful pieces. Just hard to find because they are selling so fast. You should be safe with anything produced after 2016. My 1894 has the most gorgeous wood and it shoots like a dream. Action was silky right out of the box.

Really?

If that’s true, that gun just crept a little higher on the list of desirabilitaciousiouaficationism.

Good to hear but I’m afraid yours is one out of a million opposite reviews. Based on current reviews the fit and finish still leave much to be desired. They are coming along though.

I'd be interested in a blued one in 357 mag, 44 mag, 41 mag, or 45 colt - if they decide to sell them for a reasonable price.

I had a Big Boy Steel in 357. It was a great shooter but I just couldn't get past the tube loading.

I bought a Marlin 1894 CSBL earlier this year. Is it perfect no, but it's a pretty nice rifle. Accuracy exceeds my wildest dreams. One thing that needed help was the trigger. Also, I couldn't get used to the safety button. I "deleted" it and now I smile a lot more when I use the rifle.

One reason I picked the Marlin over the Henry was the tube loading.

Based on the comments here, it will probably be very popular, but I have always liked that Henry went it's own way with the tube loading.

The new Marlins are very poor quality! The did bring back the bullseye on the buttstock but every one I've seen has been way off center. They did match the sling swivel as they weren't centered either! And, let's not forget the silly cross bolt safety!
