The Henry’s single shot break action shotgun is the Cadillac of singles:



Long regarded as the gun of choice for poor people or children, there is some renewed interest in the single shot shotgun of late as a nostalgic, handy option for the woods.

Henry decided to take the concept and did it to the nines. A beautiful brass (actually ultra high strength naval bronze) receiver, drop dead gorgeous black American walnut, and a beautifully blued barrel and brass buttplate.

This gun locks up tight as a tiger and has a smooth, crisp pull. It features an ejection mechanism for the spent hull to allow quick reloads in the field. The gun is threaded for choke tubes, a big bonus for versatility.

If you’ve ever handled an Ithaca or Topper single, trust me, this ain’t it. It’s far better made and drips with quality and American pride of ownership. No, it ain’t cheap, but once you handle or shoot one you might not care.

I’m an advocate of the single for an all day hunting gun. This is about as good as they get and believe you me, it’s really good.

They’re very nice guns but might as well be junk compared to a Henry.

Nope...........Ya missed it.......The Topper is a better made SS( suggest you buy one try and compare before making rash statements).......The Henry is a copy of previous SS's made for the last 175 years.......Henry's are over weight and over priced.........Iffen that's what spins ya propeller..........Waddle forth and be happy.

I started shooting in 1964. at age 9........Were you born then?..........Ya can buy a Mossberg pump for what a henry SS cost...........Apparently as I stated before . You probably have never owned or used a Topper.......This ends now.......You shoot what ya like and I will do the same.
