New guy from Lancaster PA. Came across the site looking for info on Top Breaks.
My S&W collecting to this point has been riot Shotguns- 916A & 3000 and M&P 15's. While trying to determine if the 3000 came with a Marine coat finish from the factory (Howa Factory) I picked up a copy of the Standard Catalog of S&W, never knew of all the different handguns made. Now I find myself trying to consume as much knowledge as possible on early top breaks.
Should have just bought the shotgun, I think it would have been cheaper in the long run. :D

Welcome from Western Massachusetts. You are going to love it here! Very knowledgeable and friendly people on this site. Just find the right sub-forum and ask any question.

Welcome to the Forum from right up the road in Millersburg!
You have landed at a great place on the Internet.
I was just through Lancaster a week or so ago going to the Quarryville show.

Welcome from Louisiana !
I inherited a 38 S&W DA 4th model top break from my Grandfather and that spurred my interest in the top breaks . Actually not a bad thing because there are plenty out there and nice ones can be had for modest cost . A friend has one that looks brand new ... mine looks like 5 miles of bad dirt/gravel road . Mom said her Dad killed a lot of small game with it during the big 1930's depression ...6 children to feed in East Texas. Mom said they would have starved slap-to-death but for the meat he put on the table !
The top breaks are very interesting ... Welcome to the forum !
