Here it is, 4AM on Christmas…

I was finally going to bed when some of you rose to greet the day... at least I got some sleep... it is a blustery white morning outside.. waiting for our son to rise and make pressed coffee... I will let him sleep since it is his 26th birthday.. I need to get the sausage and bacon going.. will do the French toast when the rest of the house starts to stir... Merry Christmas to one and all of you.. and yes, this is my digital home away from home..

I'm retired so I probably got up later that some here. I'm looking forward to Christmas dinner with my local cousins who I watched grow up. It's slowly sinking in that I becoming one of the family elders.

We had the sad time when we recently lost my uncle who I was very close to, but now we also have cause for celebration because of the doctors who pulled my oldest nephew back from the brink when he had a serious coronary event at age 39.

Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks to all of you for putting up with another year of my tomfoolery.

My bladder alarm woke me around 3:30-4:00. I made use of the porcelain altar, took my pain vitamin, and finally rolled out around 8:00. At least wife's covid issues have quieted down. Almost 1:00 P and upper 50s on the temperature thing on the front porch. Time to shower and get the smoker going. I found a real nice-looking chuck roast and it's been marinating all night and ready for me to get my back end moving.
Merry Christmas to all yinz guys!

We just got back from neighbors, we all cooked up a huge feast. We cooked a ham, wife made corn pudding and broccoli casserole. Neighbors made mac and cheese, stuffing with gravy and some real good collards. Stuffed is not the word," feel like a tick thats been on a dog all summer". Wife and I did not do gifts as we sent the $$$ to the Screaming Eagles fund at Ft Campbell. Those folks are having a tough Christmas after loosing everything in the tornado.
Wishing all a very Merry Christmas!

…and I'm in my kitchen with my 2 dogs, Earl and Ethel, hangin' out with me while I have a pot of veggie-beef soup (my sons asked for that for Christmas dinner) gurgling on the stove long enough for me to able to put it in the frij to finish cooking by dinner time tomorrow. I also proved my lack of discipline coz I'm having a cup of coffee, but doggone if it ain't wonderful. All's currently right within my world.

One thing I've always loved about the S&W Forum is the type of people it's always attracted. I go as far back as guys like Dick Burg and Quarter Cherokee and many others who had earned my respect and enjoyment from reading their posts. A place where sanity, honor, and logic actually MATTER. I don't even have to say how that's becoming scarcer and scarcer these days. But this place has always felt the same to me as if I was visiting an old friend's house. Both a rarity and a blessing. One can almost feel the warmth from the wood stove, smell the coffee, and see the rough-hewn walls.

Whatever it is in my character makeup is such that for whatever reason, logging onto this forum in the wee hours of Christmas morning, as I've done every year since I've joined, just completes my feeling of home on Christmas and for that, I'm eternally grateful.

So I just wanted to yell howdy, thank you, and Merry Christmas.

The same to you, sir.

Well stated, I have to admire you early risers. I am generally just trundling to bed 3 or 4 hours before all of you are rising. My wife is an early to bed early to rise, so my quiet time is the few hours after she turns in around 10pm.

I am not a morning person!
