Here we go. Lead Ammo threat to wildlife

I haven't seen any hope for that state in decades. If I'm going to feed lead bullets to wildlife, it will be at high velocity.

If you check a little deeper into this I think you'll find that all lead based bullets are already banned in parts of California, Nevada, and Arizona. It seems that lead based bullets are thought responsible for weak egg shells from California Condors thereby contributing to their being on the endangered species list. It seems that lead based bullets leave too much lead in the offal from hunting kills and that the birds are ingesting. Of course the Condor has been on that list for the last forty years. This is why you have seen the increase in monolithic bullets in recent years.

Don't electric windmill farms pose a greater danger to wildlife? I have heard the windmills have even been know to kill condors. They are proven to kill bald eagles. Yet, the government (state and federal) keep putting up more of the things. No talk of banning them either.

I agree. Lead ammo fed at high velocities is the best way to control animal populations

They are banning lead wheelweights as they say that kids walking on the interstates are picking them up and trying to eat them thinking they are candy. I am surprised that they haven't taken that tack, the kids are walking in the wild and see spent bullets and think they are candy and pick them up and try to eat them.
