I have the 6" model as well and have found no better bullet for reloading than this one.(260 gr)Excellent accuracy and would be a great one to hunt with.

They appear similar to the Herretts I have on my model 14.

I've dealt with Herretts since the 1960s and never known them to install S&W grip medallians?

Nice find. I carried money in my wallet just for this model and BBL length. Found it, made in 1978, blue, box tools no paper, 99.x% nice. When this past winters ice age went on spring break I hustled out and shot it. Love it. I hope you enjoy yours.

Yep, checked the package and they are indeed Herretts.

But she's a beauty, and very nice looking grips !
I had the 6" along with my 6 1/2" ones but sold it to a friend. One gun I wish I had kept.
Now looking for another 6".

yes, I do confirm, it's a 6".

by the way, about the grips.... maybe the most of you know the grips made by herrett in their custom shop, which are ergonomic and quite expensive.
My ones are made by herrett as well, but not in their custom shop.... it's a lower budget line which comes out for something like 35 -40 $
