Here's your sign, wrong number

One of the problems I see these days is calls come in showing "unavailable", "incoming call", and "unidentified caller". Problem is, some of the calls are legit. Picked up an "unavailable" and it was my Dr. office.

Usually I just don't pick up and figure if it was important they would leave a message. I am on the federal and my state's no call list and still get plenty.

I never answer the land line.

I haven't answered my land line in over a year. Because I got rid of the damn thing!!!

$35 a month for people I don't know to interrupt my life for nothing.

I use wifi calling on my smart phone at home, through my internet router. Works great!

As parsimonious as I am, I can't believe I didn't do it years ago.

My tv has caller id on it so's I know who is calling. When nothing comes up I don't even bother, also unknown phone numbers from out od state that I don't know I don't answer. One night we must have gotten about 5 calls from the same unknown number. Little woman says I got the next one if they call. Sure as God made little green apples they call again. She waits until they start speaking and lets out with a blood curdling scream. Haven't gotten that number in quite awhile. Scared the dogs and my oldest daughter comes running into the living room. We casually explained what had happened. Frank

Now you got me thinking. I have this whistle which my father carried as a Lewis Gun squad leader in WW I. It has another whistle on the other side, and the two are only about 40 cps apart. The beat frequency is like a whistle with a ball in it. It's made to signal over gunfire and the noise of combat. I'd have to put on ear muffs, but if I blew that into the phone, it would sure give the person on the other end a jolt.
