Do you know of any prohibition concerning CCW at the NO Jazz festival held at the fairgrounds? Got a "father-daughter" day coming up and that's what she wants to do. I do recall reading CCW is not allowed where an event that was issued a Gov't permit is taking place. Don't know if the Jazz Festival is one of those events.

I don't know the answer to your question, I am sure Cajun lawyer will be able to answer, but please take the following news clip seriously:

"A jury in 2005 convicted Duncan in the killing of the 57-year-old Breaux after hearing testimony that Duncan and three other teenage boys followed Breaux on the evening of May 1, 2004 to rob him but that only Duncan had a gun.

But Waldron overturned that conviction a few months later on appeal after hearing testimony from an 8-year-old boy who said he saw only one "boy" following "the man," who as killed.

Waldron granted Duncan a new trial, ruling that Duncan's defense team was denied a chance to present "contradictory evidence" in the form of the 8-year-old's testimony.

Breaux was shot once in the head at the corner of Orchid and North Dupre as he was leaving the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival."

I do not know the answer offhand, but out of an abundance of caution I would NOT carry unless Someome with authority told me it was OK. If I get time, I'll try to track down a State Policeman who might know the answer.
Maybe Many can chime in - how bout it Lowriderfxr?????? Got your ears on?

FWIW-I don't do Jazz fest or Mardi Gras for that matter just cause I'm scared of the crazies out there and the thought of me half lit with a gun is just too scary to contemplate. I like to drink in front of my computer where it's safe

Thanks Caj...I'll not carry unless I know I'm not breaking the law.
