Wait a darn minute! Columbus, New Mexico was the site of the LAST invasion of the Contenintal U.S. back in 1916 when Mexican bandit, Pancho Villa and 500+ men razzed the village and a nearby U.S. Army camp. 18 citizens and soldiers were killed during the raid, and it resulted in the invasion of Mexico by the Army in pursuit of Villa. "Black Jack" Pershing led the pursuit and it was during that unsuccessful action that Lt. George Patton gained notoriety. Of course, that was back in the day when U.S. sovereignty and protecting U.S. citizens meant something. You know, back when our elected officials actually represented somebody other than themselves! It looks like the new invaders are welcomed with open arms because they bring a little money with them.
