Just saying hello. New to the forum and fairly new to shooting and guns. My wife and I purchased a S&W 686 4" revolver, last year, and we've been having a blast going to a nearby pistol range. I'm now looking to buy a .22. My first choice is a Model 617 4" but I've considered a Model 22a and even the Sig Mosquito and the Sig 226 Classic 22. Any advice would be appreciated
We usually shoot 38's but the last time we went to the range, my wife tapped me on the shoulder, while I was reloading, and said "wanna try the 357 Magnums?" I agreed that we could try that. Well (you're probably all grinnin' knowing where this is going) she comes back wth three rounds. The dealer told her that maybe she should just try a couple before buying a whole box. So, I loaded 'em and fired the first one. Loud..very loud and lots of muzzle flash. I looked at my wife and she's got this big grin on her face.:D So..I handed over the gun to my wife and stepped back while she shot the other two. Now, all nine lanes at the range (indoor) were being used. I swear, when she fired her first shot every shooter stepped back to see who was shooting what. After she fired the third round the guy on each side of us came over and asked "what the heck was that?". I'm sure that firing it indoors magnified the effect but it was funny and it convinced us too stick with the 38's.
Other hobby is my 1968 Dodge Super Bee. Look forward to visiting here.
