Just signed up and greetings and salutations from The Peoples Republic of NJ. I am fairly new to owning guns (about 1 year) but I do own 5, I've got 4 handguns and 1 shotgun and am looking for a S&W 642. I currently have a S&W M&P 9cfor sale or trade for a 642 so if anyone is interested send me a PM. I am a reloader for 38/357 and recently .380, but basically I am very interested in obtaining any and all info I can get on this little revolver. I am currently an auto tech at Cadillac but am waiting to leave for US Customs and Border Patrol training in NM and then I will be going to AZ for work as a Border Agent and I'm pretty gassed up about it...anyway hello to everyone and I look forward to spending quite a bit of time on this site...

Thank you. Auto tech almost killed me 4 years ago so I keep everyone on their toes.

I too hope you enjoy your Border Patrol time. They won't take me, past their age limit. Sigh. Happens to all of us who live long enough, I suppose. Our border is soooo porous down here, I know I'd feel better being actively involved in doing something about it.

You'll be able to buy more weapons in Arizona and New Mexico, but it's going to be a bit warmer and drier than New Jersey - especially down by the border.

But you probably already knew that.

Seems like working border patrol in the summer in that area, nights would be preferable.
