In my experience in life, I have observed a pretty universal truth about human nature. It particularly was quite displayed in the setting up and running of different action pistol type games/matches when I was involved years ago.
And that is . . . there are basically two types of people when it comes to regulations, laws, and rules.
There is what I believe to be the "civilized majority" that when presented with such regulations, laws, and rules, they tend to embrace the order and need for such and acquiesce to abiding by those as their guidelines of how to conduct themselves in the interest of the common good and common sense .
Then, there is the other type. Those that when presented with such regulations, laws, and rules peruse them carefully with the attitude and goal of "What DOESN'T it say that I can use to subvert the intent and get away with everything against the spirit of the dictum ? ". Thus as we have seen in the push back from NY (and soon others, no doubt) in doing their best to subvert the latest SCOTUS rulings to keep an iron boot on the neck of freedom and liberty.
These kind of folks are a lower form of life (my opinion) and unfortunately infest and drag down societies until in some places, dictators arise to force their version of control on the majority 'for their own good'.
The SCOTUS ruling should have been good news to the law abiding, but those bent on dictatorial control of the populace will never quit in their lust for power.
Thus it has ever been - what is and what should never be.
