I use Flitz on all my SS revolvers. I also used it on gold, brass, silver, anything that I want to shine. I like to use it on SS revolvers because fingerprints wipe right off with a silicon cloth. A paper towel and a little glass cleaner works too if no silicone cloth is available.

A belt sander or cartridge roll finish to at least 400g greased. Buff with a burlap buffing wheel and black rouge, then a sewn cotton wheel with green rouge. After that, for absolute mirror finish, use a soft, unstitched, cotton wheel and white rouge.

You had better really know what you're doing to try this because you can ruin a gun in less than 5 seconds. IF YOU USE A BUFFER AND AND YOU'RE NOT HIGHLY EXPERIENCED START AT THE SEWN COTTON WHEEL AND BE CAREFUL. CHIEF

Sorry, I should have stated....
It is advised to be very experienced any time you touch a power buffer or grinder/sander to a guns finish. You can seriously mess up a guns finish, and even if you get it "shiny", it still might be wavy as heck..

Does polishing one diminish its value???? I have a no dash 60 that I'm thinking about.....
It does raise the question of whether it was beat up and polished to cover that.

Not "beat" but it does have the light surface scratches normal for a gun of this age...... I only paid 225 for it so I may not have much to loose but I do plan on turning it for something else eventually.....

As others have stated there are several ways to polisha SS gun, but I think Mothers Mag Polish is the best. You
want mess up the finish as you might with buffers. Don
