Is it possible to change the light pipes in these Hi Viz sights? I have green and cannot see it well at all. I would like to switch to red. Can I change just the light pipe or do I need to change the entire sight? Just wondering if anyone has dealt with these before . Thanks!

The high hi viz sights for the revolver seems to be different than others. There isnt just a light pipe, it seems to have a plastic cover or encapsulation on it. Has anyone changed one of these? I wouldnt know how to begin.

That's an "overmolded" sight. I don't like the concept. The overmolding gets scuffed, becomes dull, etc., then just complicates replacement of the pipe which is deadnuts simple otherwise.

I'd just go at it with small wire cutters or whatever, including drilling if necessary, to just destroy/remove all that's plastic without marring the metal. Use a drill bit to determine the diameter needed, then order replacement pipes of the right diameter. There are online videos detailing how to install them.

Hard to tell for sure on the pic but I have a similar one that has a tab under the pipe about center. you put something thin between the pipe and the base to lay down the tab then push on the small end of the pipe with a small punch or even a paper clip may work once the tab is down and it should push out without breaking anything. I'd try an internet search on Hi Viz if that doesn't work.

Thanks for the replies and information. I have searched the Hi Viz sight and youtube with no luck. Just doesnt seem to be any info about it. I have changed them on automatic pistols before, but they were different.

I think I'm going to try this sight. It is a LPA front sight. I have LPA rear sights on a couple of revolvers, just never tried the front ones. I know I can replace the pipes in these sights easily with wire cutters and a lighter. Im afraid that I will destroy the Hi Viz sight messing with it. I will keep it for a backup or something

This is what you need to do. It is not hard. Cut the plastic and old tube out with diagonal cutter and then drill out the rest, you will need to drill from the end you are looking at when sighting the gun and drill through the metal on the other end. Then replace the tube just like any other ones you have done using the fiber optic and a lighter. I have done this to several of them.
