My family and I will be driving across parts of five states tomorrow to get back home for Thanksgiving. I thought it might be interesting to know what others take along for the ride. I'll be carrying a Shield in and out of the van and an M&P40 FS tucked in the side pocket of the door.

Before anyone asks - I am traveling through states that recognize my home state's CCL.

Glock 26 with G19 X-Grip magazine in the center console, Shield 9 in the drivers door pocket, PM9 in my pocket.

M&P 9 full size in the truck and Shield 9 on my hip.

I don't have family in different states (not that I know of). In fact everyone is within a 30 mile radius. But if I did it would depend on state laws. Generally if I travel I don't carry anything, not worth the hassle

G17 owb, happy stick in center console, lcp in pocket as always, and in the car, 442 in an ankle rig. the 17 rides in the glove box when seated, thus the ankle glove.

158 grain FBI Load if I can find some.

Same every day a J frame .38 36, 640 or 642

Sometimes a K frame too.

Instead of just one I carry another in a 9R Bianchi Bullet shoulder holster.

I like the NY reload plus ability to pass a weapon off to a friend.
My wife packs a J frame also.
If my trip trends anywhere near Ferguson I would detour quite a bit.

I wish all of you who will be traveling safety on the road and warm good cheer when you arrive.

Travel really isn't practical for me now, but when it was I avoided doing it on holidays. It can get pretty weird when the drivers around you are drunk and/or pissed off by some holiday misadventure or misunderstanding.

If I were traveling I'd be equipped as I am every other day--J-frame .38 Special. Spyderco Endura or SOG Flash II, Victorinox Super Tinker or Pioneer for the tools. Nothing different from what I carry around town.

Again, folks, watch yourselves out there, travel safely, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Traveling, it's always my S&W 3" Pro 45 ACP SKU 178020. 1 mag on my belt. For around town it's the same. Ammo is usually 230 gr HP +P. Have a safe holiday season.

No travel plans for T'Giving this year.
As usual, traveling from FL to NJ for Christmas.
Same gun for travel as EDC, my G27.

No travel as my family is coming here this year. But when I do I have my S&W Model 37 in my pocket and a reload in another. I also keep a 1911 in console or glove box and a couple extra magazines for it. One reason for the 1911 is it's hard to get a J frame out of your pocket while sitting. Another reason is my wife doesn't carry so an extra gun for her isn't a bad idea.
Be safe traveling as they're lots of idiots on the road especially holidays.
