Hit the Jackpot, sort of...

My LGS called me bright and early this morning-it was my turn for my name to come up on their list and I could pick up 4 boxes of Federal 124 gr. JHP at $30 each, otd. It felt like I hit the jackpot!

I'm on their lists for .22, 9mm and .223/5.56 but the list is 100's of names long. I guess good things come to those who wait.

Anyone else get lucky recently?

$30 for a box of 9mm isn't a Jackpot unless that box has 150 rounds in it.


Edit: I need to work on my reading comprehension. I completely glossed over "JHP" ... and now, considering that they're HST's ...

That's about what one could expect to pay for premium Federal HST in pre-COVID days. Many regard that particular ammo as some of the best LE/self-defense available.

You did OK, who'd a thunk it would be like this? I've seen it for $60'00 a box. Get what you can when you can. Even if it's 12ga #8s.

That's a pretty fair retail price for Federal HST 9mm ammo. Maybe supply is starting to catch up with demand.

Went to my first gun show in almost a year and got the trade I wanted plus a bit.
250 rounds Rem 9mm 115gr FMJ range rockets for 200 230gr 45ACP and 20 Federal 230gr HST. Wasn't thinking about the JHP but I asked 1 for 1 and he countered with that.

Since the Remington was $2 for 50 after rebate some years ago, don't think I did bad for $10 plus admission.
