I installed a HiViz #SW1002 (Green) sight on my 5" 63. Made for the slightly longer sight base of the K, L, & N frames, it overhangs the J-frame's base by ~3/32" on the back when the front is flush - you have to look for the misfitting part. The good news - it is the perfect height! No elevation (or windage) adjustments and it hit 'on the money', ie, aim at the center & hit the center, at 10-15yd on the small (6"-8" OD) SPC targets with WallyWorld bulk pack Federals. Good enough for a fun plinker - now with fast sight acquisition for my 'mature' eyes. Here it is... and it's overhang is easily seen:

I may take it back off - and trim it & paint it. Not anytime soon, of course. Fun plinker - not as much so as my 4" 617...

Looks like it'll be tough to trim the back end and still have support for the fiber optic rod.
I take it HyViz doesn't make one to fit the J Frames

Doesn't look that bad. Enjoy it if it fits your shooting style.
