Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had any information about the timeframe that the Hogue rubber grips with the silver S&W medallions were used. I have a 629 mountain gun made in 1993 that does not have the silver medallions. I have a 29 classic made in 1994 which does have the silver medallions. I had always assumed the medallions were manufactured first and then dropped in favor of the plain black moulded grip. Just curious.

Hogue N frame RB w/ silver medallions

Hey Daveyc...I have 2 model 29 Classics. One came with the Hogues with the silver medallion; the other came with the Hogues with the embossed S&W in the rubber. I am not sure what rhime or reason S&W used in fitting certain models with the silver medallion grips. It's a very good question. Possibly it was whatever one was pulled when the gun was on the production line? I have 1 extra set of these with the silver medallion. PM me if interested.

I bought a 629-3 Classic in 1992 that had the silver medallions. The 629-4 Classic that I bought 93-94 has wood finger-groove grips.

Found them - Thanks Dewey!

My 629-3 Classic DX built/test fired 7-16-1992 has the Medallion Rubber Hogue and also the wood grips. Looking for another set of the Hogue Rubber N-Frame Round Butt grips with the silver S&W medallions if anyone has an extra set for my 610 ;-).
