Hogue wood grips

I have bought wood Hogue grips for a few of my handguns. No matter the wood type, they were all great looking grips and nicely priced too. My only gripe is that the fit on a few have been really bad causing me to return/exchange them.

Here's my 4506. I'd recommend the checkered over the smooth. These are slick once sweated on.

I ordered a set of J frame walnut grips direct from Hogue a few years ago that I wound up returning. I'm not sure the wood was actually walnut. The color was pale and unlike any walnut I've ever seen. I called customer service and got a bit of runaround from the girl but was finally issued a return label and received a refund a couple weeks later.

I have Hogue pau fero grips for my 1006 and 1076, but no pictures. However, I have three sets of hogue tulipwood grips for various revolvers. Unfortunately, they're not using tulipwood much anymore due to its availability and it's tendency to shrink and or warp. Pat Hogue is a personal friend so he'll make me custom tulipwood grips from remaining stock.

Ditto... some/most of my original ( early 1990s) grips were smooth ( OK I'm cheap! :) )....transitioned to checkered and never looked back..... they also feel smaller/thinner... and you get a better/more secure grip!

Back in the day you could send smooth grips back and they would checker them...... we're talking 25 or so years ago ..... so don't know but wouldn't hurt to ask!!!
