Holosun C optic vs K on M2 C 4"

The overhang never bothered me. I have the overhang with the RMR on my Glock 17 RMR-cut slide (Brownells) and never noticed it until I looked for the overhang.

You might check out the green Circle dot in the holosun line up . The circle only covers 8" at 25 yards and that makes ringing 6" steels easy , I can maintain a zone hit chest area hits at 40 yards with only the circle but for head shot practice best to use both the circle and dot together. As far as optic width thats all on You to figure out . Maybe you want one of those wittle bitty luppy delta point micro dots ! Hou might like it .

Took advantage of a holiday sale and bought a Holosun 507K green dot.

Next was an adapter plate. The Calculated Kinetics Dogtag was on sale too, so I bought that instead of the DPP mount.

Well, I got mixed results. The 507K has the narrowness I wanted. So, I do not grip the optic when racking.

But the problem is with the mounting plate ... any mounting plate
*for Holosun.
It looks like they are all over 1" wide.

The Dogtag does have a nice contour on the front. But the rear is just squared off. And Thick! ( I wonder why?)

Another nice thing about the Dogtag is the deflector for the LCI hole. Although I have read mixed comments on whether it is needed.

I also like that it mounts the Holosun slightly towards the rear. Whereas the DPP pushed it towards the LCI.

I can't speak to how well the Dogtag plate works, but my M&P pistols with more traditional plates definitely get debris on the lenses.

Hard for me to say why other features of the Calculated Kinetics plate are what they are without seeing one, but I would hazard that the primary buyer of that footprint for an M&P 2.0 are putting the full size Holosun EPS on them.

Looking at the plates included in the box I noticed only Type 1 and 7 were 1.1" wide. The other ones were narrower at 1".

So, I checked out which optics fit those plates. The only ones I heard of were Leupold Delta Point, JP Rifle J-Point and Crimson Trace 1500.

( The others are Docter, C-More STS and Insight MRD )

407C/507C is the larger RMR footprint
407K/507K is the smaller modified RMSc footprint (intended for carry guns)

The 407K is 6 MOA, 507K is 2 MOA dot with a selectable circle/dot.
407C is 2 MOA, 507C is dot or circle/dot.

EPS Carry is another option, its the same 407K/507K footprint with a 2 MOA dot or circle dot, but it is a sealed emitter.

Personally I don't care for the circle dot.

I'm just the opposite, I love the circle dot so much I will probably be selling my sights that just have a single dot. Different strokes for different folks.
