Holster for the 627 Pro in 3 inch

I am new here and have used the search option to try to find a suitable holster for my 627 Pro in 3 inch barrel. I am looking for an owb, preferably with retention, and iwb if possible.

I am sorry if this is discussed elsewhere, but I am not well versed in forums and thought this forum would be the best source.

You will find plenty of people here to help. One of them is LoboGunLeather. I'm sure he will be along soon. There are others as well.

For a gun this large, by the way, I want one really bad...I'd recommend sticking with owb. With a good quality "pancake" style holster being a great bet. That is a large chunk of steel to carry iwb.

Don't worry about retention so much, a good holster will take care of it for you, unless you are in the habit of having fist-fights frequently, or falling overboard, or out of trees.

I do suggest strongly a really good belt. You can put a great holster on a cheap belt and it will not work.

Just a quick note: I purchased several Blade-Tech OWB Paddle Holsters after evaluating leather paddle holsters and other options I uncovered.

Thanks to the Highlander for your advice! I also replaced my severely worn belt with their new belt - on a waiting list - they are not in yet.

I own several other Blade Tech Items and they compare favorably to SERPA and the people are incredibly pleasant.

I carry a 3" 625 in an El Paso Street Combat holster. My holster was made for a 4" revolver since most of my revolvers have 4" barrels. This pouch type holster is lined and no retention strap is necessary. It will carry most large frame revolvers equally well and is not manufacturer or barrel length sensitive.

Belt: Comp-Tac! 7 day wait max. Kydex reinforced...love mine.

As for a Safariland type retention holster...I have yet to find one that has something beyond a simple snap.

The only 627 Pro I have see or heard of have 4 inch barrels. Are you sure you have a 3" version?
