I recently purchased an m&p40c and I'm trying to select a holster for concealed carry. I see a lot of shield holster online and was wondering of the 40c was able to use an holster meant for a shield? Also is there a great place online that has good leather holsters?

A holster made for a Shield will not work for your 40c. What kind of holster are you looking for? Inside the waist? On the belt?

I prefer on the belt pancake style holsters, and a good inexpensive one is a Don Hume H721 OT. If you want to step up in quality, try Kramer or Ritchie.

The last time I ordered a Ritchie the wait times were real low, like two weeks. Great custom leather without the wait.

Here is my 40c in the Don Hume H721 OT (Open Top):

can't go wrong with a crossbreed supertuck. Have one for my XD's and shield. One for my XD's I've had for 4 years now wearing it pretty much as much as i can.

No. The two guns are completely different.

I suppose a super cheap nylon holster might work for both, but they are not worth buying.

I like R Grizzle: Holsters by RGrizzle
His prices are reasonable and quality is top notch.

Grizzle makes a great holster.
Holsters are sort of a personal item. You may like something different than someone else. After a couple of holsters I see why some people have a drawer full.
I also like the Dale Fricke holster.

I make Custom Kydex holster for that M&P 40c. Take a look and let me know if I can help. And the Shield is slimmer than the 40c, I have both of those blueguns - They are not the same.. .

I have a Bianchi that is similar to M&P Freak's Don Hume holster. Very similar, looks just like it. It was about $45 on Amazon. I think it is called the Remedy.
