Holster opinions needed.

check out alien gear holsters, great price and a warranty that cant be beat

I've had a lot of holsters already, and the plastic ones don't turn me on.... Especially when I make kydex holsters and I know Kydex cost $4 a sheet and see these things sold for $45! Those holsters are maybe half a sheet and come with a $2 clip. Sorry.

Get a good leather IWB holster and be happy for the rest of your life. ;)

^^^ This.

While I'm not a huge fan of IWB holsters, I've been sporting a DeSantis Sof-Tuck. Carries low and has an adjustable cant. Depending on the weather and my clothes, its either this or a DeSantis Mini Scabbard OWB, which is an extremely comfortable and concealable rig.

I have been carrying my Shield in an Aegis Armory holster for the past couple months....and I absolutely LOVE it.

Like their slogan says it's "comfortable from day one". I never forget that I have it on... But it doesn't really feel like anything is there.

I move A LOT at work and am on my feet from the time I leave the house until I get back home...and it's still comfortable. Most days I don't take it off until right before I go to bed. I have done everything but do cartwheels with it on and the retention is great and it doesn't flop around at all.

Shipping was fast also.... I ordered mine on a Sun evening and got it on Thurs. It's very well made that's for sure and it's easy to adjust for the ride height you want and the cant you want.

I 2nd the recommendation for the Pro HD from the holster store. Got one for my 4046 and love it. That is after going through 5 other holsters, $300 and a whole lot of hours of uncomfortable carrying. I got it within 2 days of ordering.

sent from my Galaxy S3, superior to the iPhone.

I will second the Alien Gear recommendation.

These are very popular with the CCW community on reddit. I paid about $75 for a "top-of-the-line" Crossbreed, but these are equal to, if not better for half the price.

Also, as the other guy said, you really can't beat a forever warranty. They will repair or replace it for free, for life.

Good choice on the Kusiak. I carry my Shield in a tuckable IWB and really like it. I only wish I had gotten the one with the spare mag holder. I've also been very satisfied with Remora.

For a hybrid, my son-in-law really likes his SHTF, so I'll recommend it. Personally I've tried a few hybrids of that type and concluded they are not for me.

Since youve purchased already, if you'd be willing to wait, take a look at stealth gear USA. The sell on called The Onyx. Just got mine in the mail yesterday, so ive merely tried it on, but way more comforting than my trapp, which i am also very fond of.

These holster threads come up all the time.

Most replies are from people who have a limited number of holsters to start with. Not knocking anyone's opinion, just saying that many people tend to sell what they themselves own.

It's kind of a human phenomenon. If you bought it, you want others to buy it too.

I can't see how a hard piece of plastic IWB can be anywhere near comfortable... But......

Good luck with your selection! We all have drawers full of holsters. :p

Putting the cost of something down to the raw materials made to make it, is pure fallacy.

If it's not, then please make me 20 good quality Kydex holsters for $6 each plus the cost of any eyelets or screws.

If you wish to make a profit on the physical item, I will happily pay you double the physical cost.

I also assume you paid only the cost of the leather and the hardware for your leather holster? If not, how much do you think that leather cost?

I bought a shield, and like you, wanted to carry it as soon as I had shot it. I bought a Remora IWB holster, had it in 5 days. Then I found a Lobo gun leather IWB in the clearance items on the website. It arrived in about a week. I'm satisfied with both.

Thanks, now that I have a leather on the way I'm thinking about ordering the pj with deep concealment option. Also looking at the remora/sticky... Still undecided on if I should try a hybrid. A couple years ago I tried a desantis intruder for my glock 26 and didn't care for it.... Could've been that particular hybrid though.

I have two holsters for my 9mm Shield. One is Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe and the other is Remora with full sweat shield. Being home most of the time, I find the Remora used every single day as it's much easier to remove yet stays where you put it. Want to lay on the couch? Pull the Remora out from the waist band and do it. Need to run to the Post Office or anywhere CCW is illegal? Pull the Remora out and put it in the console. It's really perfect for me I find. I like the Crossbreed a lot and hope to use it more but the Remora is always on me LOL. Good luck!

This is what I bought for mine, it has not yet shipped to me yet, just ordered it last week. It came highly recommended :

DR

My daughter ordered one for me for Christmas. I still have not received it. Called them, nobody answered, left a message. Next day I tried to get a hold of someone again. Again, nobody would answer the phone. This time the voice mail boxes were full. Some one finally called me back. It has not shipped yet. They are supposedly running about 4 weeks out.

Same here. Website showed the holster was in stock......I think it's crazy to wait 4 weeks for something in stock to ship. If they had posted the lead time on their website, then I would have known about the wait.
I'm still looking at other holsters.
