Holster Size Interchange/Crossover Chart?

Is there such a thing as a sizing chart for comparable sized handguns? I really want to know if a S&W M63 3" would be a decent fit in a holster sized for a Ruger SP101 3". Any and all opinions much appreciated.

I doubt it would be a good fit, a 63 Smith is a small J Frame. The Ruger is a larger type frame size!

Colt's Detective Special, Cobra & Agent fit ok in holsters made for Ruger's
SP101, but as NYlakesider said the little J frame would be too small. Oh
it would go in alright, but the fit would be quite loose.

I use some of my holsters for multiple guns. Some makers make their holsters to a generic frame size. Versa Carry offers 3 sizes that will allow you to use a holster for many SC, C, and Full Size
guns.
