I am looking for suggestions on holsters for 2 of my revovers. First I have a model 19 2 1/2" I would like an IWB, leather, I don't want the cheap collapsible ones with the single metal clip, I want good quality. The second is an OWB for a 686 2 1/2" leather preferred. Thanks

A couple months ago I switched my EDC from a Ruger LCP in a back-pocket holster to an appendix-IWB carried j-frame snubby. For me, in this carry mode, flimsier is better. I use an Ace Case clip-on, which is made of light glove leather with a liner of some sort. I just acquired a suede clip-on & tried it, it is sturdier than the Ace and a bit longer (sewed shut at the muzzle end) and although it would probably hold up better than the Ace it is not as comfortable.
Maybe a sturdier holster would be more satisfactory if I carried in the 3-4 o'clock position, but so far from my experience I think the less bulk the better.

The 686 would require a good holster because of it's weight. I have a 2 1/2" 686 but don't have a holster for it...I do carry a 66 from time to time so here is the Lobo leather I like and use. I really like the snap loop for ease of on and off. Ray can make whatever you want for your 686.

Check out the Bianchi Pistol Pocket and the model 5BH. The Pistol Pocket is their IWB holster and the 5BH is their OWB holster. Before my wife took my 2 1/2" 66 for her gun I had a right hand 5BH for it and had no problems. She has a left hand 5 BH for it now.

I carried a 2 1/2" 19 (this one) in a Bianchi Pistol Pocket for several years. It worked well for me.

We are also very fortunate to have as fellow members two very fine holster smiths that you should give consideration to as well.....Bell Charter and lobogunleather.

Check out Ryan grizzle leather. Quality worth the wait. Wait times running about two months

I have two basic holsters I prefer for a .38 snubby. The Crossbreed SuperTuk and the DeSantis Cozy Partner. Both fine IWB holsters. However, I do prefer the SuperTuk

I just recieved from Fed-ex a Desantis thumb break scabbard for my 686, 2 1/2" The model 19 fits in there also but a little loose. now I just have to decide on the IWB for the 19 I will look into the cozy partner from Desantis and some of the others, Thank You.

+1 for Lobo. I carry a 37 in an enhanced pancake and at times I don't even know it is there. Ray's stuff is really well made and can carry the weight you are considering.

I second the Bianchi "Pistol Pocket" recommendation for your M19. It's a fine holster and can be used equally well for either strong side or cross draw carry in addition to being removable without having to take off your belt.

Edit: I was going to suggest a Bianchi "Serpent" for your 686 snub, but it doesn't seem like they make any holster for that particular revolver.
