Home made rifle rest

Getting ready to sight in my two newly purchased rifles. This rig should allow me to get it bore-sighted here at home (already done) then to the range Tuesday to fire the first shot, then adjust the scope to be in that position for the second shot to confirm scope adjustments are correct. Hopefully that will get it sighted in to about an inch low at 25 yards, then around an inch high at 100 yards. That is the maximum distance at the range I will be using. Maybe later I'll go to a range with longer yardages at some time in the future.

I've made a few shooting front rests. One is outta a car jack, one is a 6" lab jack and one is a 8" lab jack. Lots of vertical adjustment on each. I topped the lab jacks with Corian scraps to hold the front bags, and bolted the carjack to a Corian base. I also made a cleaning cradle from scrap hardwood and quickgrip clamps to hold the rifle....

Also, I just swapped stocks on my ruger American Ranch to the MDT TimbrCore walnut stock yesterday. So I had to confirm my 200 yard zero after the swap. Then I had to take it out and use it for what it was made for, today.....

LOL! Great thread with some humor, too! Lately I've just used my range bag backpack as a rifle rest. Worked well for my AK-47, M1 Garand, and M1A.
