It all started when I went to a small town gun show in Southern Indiana the 1st week of January. I saw a Model 66 no dash and it was love at first sight. I left with it. Now I find myself going to gun shows every weekend, joining forums like this, etc. picked up my 4th today. Clockwise from the 66 are a Model 10-8 w 3 in barrel, Model 19-5 w 6 in barrel and today got my hands on a Model 649 no dash. I know they are not all from this forum's era, but I like the 66 the best, so I posted here.

Oh man you have been smitten. You can expect to be buying many more guns. I had one revolver and a Ruger 22lr Mark II before I got my CC license. In a little over a year I had 22 handguns. LOL After buying each one I said that's the last gun I buy, I don't need anymore. What a laugh that was. I expect many guns in your future, Enjoy them.

You done took a really big step on the slippery slope.
We'll wait for you at the bottom.

Model 66 is a fine firearm. Competed with a round butt 2.5 inch successfully many years ago. Fast, accurate, easy to conceal. I bobbed the hammer and thinned down the trigger guard a little. My son has it now and I carry a 325 AirLite 45 these days. Prefer the moon clips and the light weight. S&W's are fine addictive firearms. Enjoy!

drotis, There are way too many enablers on this site whom will keep your accumulation of Smith revolvers growing. As deyomatic says, there is an N Frame in your future!!!!!!!! Stay the heck away from the guns for sale page...........

Welcome, your story is Deja Vu all over for me again :)

I stumbled across a 66 no dash and fell hard for the k frames. I now have two 66 no dash revolvers and have gone through a 64, a 65, and a 627 in just a short period of time.

.....Well all I can say is you have been bitten, and once it gets in your blood you may be this way for the rest of your life, [and good for you]..I have had it for almost 40yrs and some of the best fun I've ever had. always on the hunt for the next one

Welcome to the land of OZ er I mean the land of S&W love! You'll find some mighty Fine Folks here. Lots of great information. Again welcome to the forum from Central Arkansas. Your life as you have known it is over, but it gets even better! Shootem, shootem, shootem! Enjoy!

My addiction also started with a 66 no dash 2 1/2 in. Still is my favorite to
shoot. In the past 2 years have added 4 more K frames, 1 J frame, and yes, 1 N frame in 41 mag. You will be getting an N frame soon, it is just the way it goes.

Do not, I Repeat, Do Not look at a nice N Frame ! All will be lost as your collection grows!

Welcome to the forum and those revolvers are a great way to start your love for S&W revolvers!

Hahahahaha! I think you all are right - this is the best Forum I've been a part of, so far. And either you all are clairvoyant, or this disease follows a predictable course - because I've been searching out a Model 27 as next on the list!!!

Welcome to the FORUM! N frames are nice Smiths. I am surprised that nobody mentioned L frame. 586, or 686? I myself gave up on J's. Not my thing. S&W 1911's are pretty cool. I picked up 1 in December. A Beauty! So many nice guns out there........too little time! Bob
