I've never seen an early 80s P Case wasn't complete dust when you opened it. I've opened some that were still sealed in the wrap and they were dust when I opened them. Definitely a flaw in design at S&W. Today I received my inserts for my pair of early S&W 629 no dash revolvers from Rick. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement. This brings new hope to
The once hopeless cases.

Mighty fine job on the presentation case inserts. Congratulations.

I do have a S&W Presentation Case from 1978 that my Model 27-2 with 8 3/8" barrel came in and the inserts still look like they did when I bought the gun in late 1979. The presentation case has remained in the top of my closet for over 40 years in the cardboard sleeve that it came in new. The inserts still looked okay last year when I was moving some items.

Here's the 80s type case liners covered with a cloth, no flocked! The original covering was a thin piece of blue foam rubber that deteriorated over time. Plus my 629 no dash guns!
