As near as I can tell, the 'boot' type stocks have a letter C on the inside of their horns. The faux ivorex only have the stamp that is pictured. Thanks to you folks!

Baxter, thanks much!

gdogs, I don't know of any Hogue that mounts in the 'normal' manner {with a screw through the frame} like this.

OP, This is my 64-2 with Hogue Bantom grips. I believe I purchased these as being seconds noted by the pink dot on the upper corner.

The Hogue Bantam (boot grips) don't use the screw from below because they don't all extend below the grip frame. As far as I know, these are the only S&W revolver grips that Hogue makes that use a normal side screw method.

The "C" on the one stock is in pencil, not a stamp! This was done by a previous owner and has no meaning concerning the manufacturer, no matter who made them,

I decided to bump my own recent thread for these J-frame grips.
The WOOD grips say....

BJCR
.SPEC

They put a somewhat unique 'point' when mounted. Very comfortable.
Do you have any idea what they are?

The Pachs look like they were carried by Shrek, and he rubbed-off on 'em! :D

They were covered with what appeared to be white mold. I scrubbed them off with soap and water, and this was the result. Just wondered if any one of you had seen something similar. Plus, if you had any clue as to the cause.

THanks!

The J Frame grips appear to be of Philippine origin.

I have had decent luck using rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol to remove the green funk from rubber grips.

Thanks for that info. I will have to research a bit more on the wood stocks.

I actually just had great success on the Pachs with some brake cleaner that I have on-hand. ;)
