DON'T use it to remove pine tar from the hood of your car.

I was dumb and young once. LOL!

On a serious note: Straight 70% isopropyl alcohol will remove pine tar. Absent that, alcohol-based hand sanitizer will work as well. It's never damaged the clear-coated finishes on my cars.

Call me a heathen, but I'm one of those few who thinks Hoppes stinks. I don't find it to be a particularly effective cleaner either.

Room deodorizer, car deodorizer, shampoo, under arm, perfume, flea repellant,, etc., etc. And an occasional use on firearms as advertised .
