Does anyone happen to know the Brinell hardness of this bullet? It seems to me to be harder than Speers same type bullet. Appreciate any info.

This wont answer you question but i dont care for the above mentioned bullet. I loaded some with 4.3 grs Unique and all i got were scttered groups and keyholers. I went down to 4.0 grs and it shot decently. Bullet isnt too good after 750-800 fps.
Just my experience and opinion. Theres way better rounds out there than Hornady.

I've had good performance with them, but 1) they do not like to be driven too fast, although up to 900fps has been OK for me, and 2) they do not like powders that burn hot like Unique. I never got them to shoot well with Unique. I use WSF with them. 4756 would be interesting.

I routinely load these in .357 at 1250 fps, with virtually no leading and excellent accuracy. The secret -- I give them a thin coat of liquid Alox lube, and let them dry for a couple of days before loading.

It's 5% antimony, so they're pretty hard.

I emailed Hornady asking them the question on the Brinell rating.
Their answer: We do not have a rating but it is a soft lead bullet designed for velocities up to 950fps.
I would suspect that they are leaving some wiggle room as far as max velocity.
