Does anyone use this ammo? Looking for firsthand experience with recoil impulse and point of aim compared to say the usual full house loads and 125 grain Golden sabers. I'm wondering if I should look at it for my model 13

I've shot a lot of it, both Critical Duty and Critical Defense. It thumps, but not near like a full house .357, and has good accuracy. If it were all I had, I wouldn't feel at a loss, but for .357 defense loads I prefer the Golden Saber, which has a touch less recoil and a lengthy positive track record.

I have not used Critical Duty in 357, but have used the Critical Defense. It is my understanding that the Duty round was meant mainly for police use and is heavy on penetration for barriers. I don't feel that is a great idea for civilian use. The 357 Critical Defense has plenty of thump as you will see in this video:

Def has some pop, but it has less recoil than less say, Winchester Silvertips or some of the 158 grain .357.

Thank s guys. Just wanted an idea what I was getting into before I dropped money on a box.

It's my go-to defensive .357 round. Get 25 vs. 20 like most ammo manufacturers for about the same price. I doubt you're going to see much of a "track record" since there are so many fewer shootings with a full size .357 anymore.

It's an easy shooter but will almost certainly hit lower than 158s.

Thanks...not a fan of critical defense though

I've seen lots of inconsistent penetration. Maybe I'll Gove it a second look

I use Critical Defense in my J frame snub, and Critical Duty in my 4" K and L frames.
