Just got a Hornady Lock N Load progressive press.

I've seen used shell plates for sale that were made for the pro-jector press.

Can these shell plates be used on the Lock N Load?

For sure they wont work with the new LNL w/ EZ-ject as the bottom needs to be relieved for the ejector. I think they work with the older wire ejector.

If they have to two ball detents on the underside and you aren't running an EZject, they will work.
Personally, the savings aren't worth it and I would buy the "new and improved" shell plates.
In particular, you want the .45ACP shell plate for the .45ACP as Hornady says that the #1 does not work as well with the short and squatty case--I never had any problem with the old #1 shell plates on my L-N-L, but I didn't run the EZject--too many years of flicking them off with my finger as I went to pick up a case and bullet.

I have and use a Pro-Jector, still like it. I have switched over to the new style shell plates - they work a LOT better than the old Pro-Jector shell plates. It is definitely false economy to try to use the old-style shell plates, even if you can get them to work (won't work w/EZ-Ject system). BTW, the new 45 shell plate works far better than the No 1 shell plate for 45 ACP (still works well for rifle, such as 308 or 30-06 though).
