Yesterday I was in Bi-Mart and noticed CCI Mini-Mag was on sale for $5.40 per 100 pack, so I put 10 packs in my shopping basket. During checkout, the woman clerk recoiled in fear at the sight of ammunition and said "A little extreme, don't you think?" and gave me the stink-eye. She was afraid to touch a pack so she could scan it. I laughed at her as she had to pick up each of the ten packs and bag them. Her manager was standing right behind her when she said, in a very demeaning voice, "Have a nice day". I looked at the manager on my way out and just rolled my eyes.

You had the audacity to purchase ammunition from a store that offers it for sale?!
You oughta be ashamed of yourself!!
Ashamed!

I would have asked the manager if it's store policy for clerks to be so rude to customers and to ridicule them for their purchases. Then I would have asked him for the mailing address for corporate. I think you shoulkd follow up with a complaint to HQ. There's no excuse for this. Wish I lived near one, at that price I'd probably buy all they had, especially if I could have the same cashier.

Actually, the store is pretty gun friendly. I think the clerk is new, not sure if she'll last very long.

And here I sit wondering why you only bought 10 of them. OK, so the clerk was a liberal idiot. They come with the turf. A more practical approach would be to ask what the limit was, then buy it! I had to visit a half dozen Wallyworlds in the days around the last presidential election. Finally one of the sporting goods managers let me buy two cases (the other ones had a 10 box limit on the 550s).

Ammo is good. The only times you can have too much is when you're on fire, when you're under water, or when you've got to hump it all uphill.

But it's not her fault. Poor lady has to handle ammo when it scares her.

Just kidding. If someone can't handle their job, they shouldn't do it. Good jobs may be difficult to find, but you can pretty much always find a job as chashier. Her manager was probably standing over her because it wasn't her first "problem." I think you did just fine not saying anything. Next time she either won't be there, or she'll be courtious.

I once went to a golf store in New Jersey to purchase gloves for shooting.

Golf gloves come only one to a pack, because, as the clerk said, golfers typically use only one glove when they play.

I asked for two matching gloves.

Clerk asked why.

With my best deadpan I said: "Because I hold my shotgun with both hands":cool::D

Not really any worse than we ran into in Wally World. Wife wanted to buy some sort of indoor shrub or bush.

The aisle was blocked by a clerk getting reamed out by a supervisor. The clerk was already crying.

Wife asked...May I get by....Supervisor looked around and said, "Can't you see I am busy!"

Her associate ID was turned over and wife asked for her name and the supervisor yelled, "MIND YOU OWN BUSINESS!!!"

We just left...empty-handed and well aware of conditions of today.

Yes, life has changed...a lot.

PS: Sent an email to corporate, filled out form, etc....NEVER heard back.

Ya gonna start a war? When I hired into lockheed as a guard in early 1965 only a few posts required guns. Then the watts riot started. I took my gun to work. We doubled up on posts and I worked with what became my closest friend that night. The captain came to our post and said boys we are starting to wear guns now but I already passed out all we had! I said oh? Well, I aint worried about it. Werch, do you have a gun in your car? Go get it! I and bill both stepped over to our vehicles and pulled out matching colts. It was the beginning of our close friendship for the last 47 years! We straped them on and I said okay cap'n, run for it! I just gotta get a crack at something tonight! I got along with him nicely after that too! Things werent quite so PC yet in those days.
