Horsehide 1903 Colt Hammerless

Trying to find horsehide, cross draw and IWB, holster makers for a 1903 Colt Hammerless. I know Karmer does but that is the only make I can find that shows the 1903 Colt. Several do horsehide just not the 1903. I have several Karmer holsters but the wait time is very long now.

I use Kramer and Sparks holsters primarily,
but I have holsters from many others as
well in my bottomless holster bin.

Try Ken Null for a crossdraw horsehide
M1903 holster. Excellent quality. Like Ken says on his site, I am not a fan of cross draw.

There is a guy on the Colt Forum who made this OWB holster for me with an elephant hide overlay.

Nixon Leather in Alliance, Nebraska is my go to guy for custom holsters. He has a FB page.

The wait time for Kramer is about 3-4 months. Order one and when you get it the wait time won't matter - lol. What you are in the market for is "a needle in a haystack"!

I have many Kramers. I can tell you the wait is about 6 months. Ignore the 16-20 weeks they advertise.

Be that as it may, STILL worth the wait - IMHO. I have waited more than that back in the day after ordering a Bruce Nelson Combat custom made holster, belt and bullet carrier. Bruce made every holster by hand - himself. He's long since past, and now Kramer Leather has been my go-to ever since. Not taking anything away from Bruce Nelson's fine designs, but the Kramer Horsehide holsters are far superior - again, IMO.

Look at how many here have waited years for a Randall Knife to be made that they never even use! If Kramer's stuff wasn't worth the wait - he would obviously not have a long wait time - right?

I think Greg and Kim should take that down or update the info. I tactfully mentioned it once to Kim, and she basically didn't reply.

While I realize every human being gets anxious for something that they custom order, people get way to bent out of shape about it! If people are wanting something worthwhile buying and it is a hand made item, of course the better a product is, the longer is will take to be shipped. At least there are still some manufacturers who have ethics and will make something right even if it takes a bit longer.

Lead time or wait time (while of course frustrating) is a testament to a company's quality and demand for their product. People get bent out of shape with poor quality but also get upset when a company does it right and it takes a longer time. I guess you can not have it both ways!

So yes, whether it's 3, 4, 5 or 6 months, in the long run does it really make a major difference? Is it better to settle? Not for me. For those who just can't wait I guess they can always lower their expectations and their quest for true quality. Me, I'll wait a bit.

MTR Custom Leather lists the Colt 1903 in the make and model listing. They also list horse hide in the exotic leather options; otherwise, they use bull hide. Worth a peek. They do quality work. Read the reviews.
