Hot day today

F this heat , getting too old for this sh\%. I work outside every day and it isn't fun anymore. Praying for a nice fall tho here in the north east.
Funny, I've gone the other way, at 64- I work outside all day too. (construction) but have acclimated to the heat. I 'would take 90+ all day long compared to 12 degrees with a wind chill.

Yesterday morning Logan placed a FB Marketplace ad offering his lawn mower repair services. Four people responded and asked for estimates. Logan saddled his horse and obliged them.

By noon today he had 4 mowers in the carport. It was 93°. He brought two box fans out from the house and aimed them towards him as it was scalding in our shed.

By early evening he came in and said: "Popaw, come outside for a minute".

All four started with one pull. His Cheshire Cat grin told the story.

He then said" "that's not the best part". The owner of mower number 4 made a trade with Logan in exchange for the repair cost. He had an older Craftsman riding mower that was running rough and he said he didn't want to keep it. It had a dirty carburetor and a dry rotted fuel line. Score one for Logan.

Heat is no deterrent for him where money is involved.

It's been in the mid 90's for weeks now. Rain's been promised almost every day, but it all goes north or south of us. A couple days ago Milwaukee got 11.5 inches over 2 days and it's a mess. They're just 2 hours from me. My little dog hates the heat and he's got his own little fans in the spots in the house he likes to lay down. Yesterday it finally rained about 3/4 inch and I let him out in the yard to get soakin wet. He didn't want to come back in.
I always cried BS when the subject of global warming was mentioned.

Most of my life while living up in the Northeast the heat and humidity drove me crazy. I hated the Summers!! Now that we have moved to to SW Florida the heat no longer bothers me. Yea it gets hot & humid but I just take the weather in stride now. I have also adapted quite well to warmer climate and when we visit up North, my wife and I shiver- lol. I guess it's really true about your blood "thinning out" and becoming acclimated to a new climate. The 3-4 months of heat here goes by relatively fast and we absolutely love it here from November to May!

Cooling off here a bit, 80s today. Maybe some rain Fri./Sat. Hope so.

We've got a high in the mid 80s predicted for today, late in the afternoon. Gonna venture out for a walk later this morning for the first time in three days...

97° and smokey out. Need to walk a mile on pavement to pick up the ford. I think I'll do it tomorrow at 7 am when it's 65°!
(The cats have been bringing baby rabbits in the house to help them cool off! My old landing net is in use again 😂 )
