Just 97* Spring Weather. The A/C was straining. Lotsa folks came out and at least 2 out of 3 were carrying something to sell. One fellow had a cart of over a dozen "milsurps" and others had handguns, including me. Sold what I had in about 10 minutes, nothing fun about toting around all day only to carry them back to the house.
Many "vintage" S&W revolvers in attendance, too many to remember. I guess more of us are dying off creating new/old inventory. A few samples: 4" 63 no dash with box and accoutrements for $1350, a 17-3 for $1595, an 18-2, very nice for $1295. Several 27's, 29/629's starting at $1295 going to $2300. Money was changing hands rapidly, I saw wads of cash into the $5th digit. I bet there was a couple $million in the room, I tried my best to get my part. But the "deal" can always be better, I had to knock $20 off my asking price on the Beretta APX to move it. Knocked $300 off a maybe 90% 4" (cloudy) nickel 29-2, refinished grips just the gun. I got the (bottom) number that I wanted. Doc did his own "hunker-dicker" on a very nice SS Bauer .25acp with box etc for $400 otd. The guy goes through "caliber phases" (.32acp, .380, .500, .22 magnum, 5.7 and now .25) with "logic" that escapes me. He enjoys it so I do too.
Blew out before 2 so we could stop at "the ranch." No cattle to run us off this trip and only a stop to function test both the Bauer and his Baby browning that he recently repaired. Not only did they both function 100%, the magazines interchanged, a "+." I pulled my CZ P07 and fired one 15 rd magazine, again 100%. If it fails once, it's gone.
The 3 of us went through 14 LaCroix/ water bottles on the day. Did I mention it was hot? Joe
